Welcome to Cover2 Resources, founded in memory of my son, Sam, who died of a heroin overdose in October 2015.

While Sam was fighting his battle with drug addiction, he and I spoke about helping others avoid going down that same road. Since then, I have wondered what could have been.

Like many parents, we felt that no matter how bad things got we would always be able to get Sam the help he needed. We tried both local and out of state rehab facilities, and each time what seemed to be a successful recovery spiraled into a relapse. In the end, we learned we really didn’t have it covered. We weren’t equipped with all the tools we needed to help Sam succeed in recovery.

Rehab is a small part of what should be a life-changing, comprehensive recovery plan.

For most addicts, relapse is part of recovery. So, why not account for it in the recovery plan?

So, knowing what we know today, what would we do differently to help Sam if we had it all to do over again? I have asked myself that question many times. And the fact is, I would do just about everything differently. We’ll try to capture and share that information on our web site and in regular podcasts as Cover2 Resources evolves.
